North American Packet Radio Map

January 29, 2022

Chris WW2BSA has a nice nationwide packet radio map style directory available here.

This is a wonderful resource for both the home and traveling packet operator. Chris has done a good job, but as always the trick with such endeavors is keeping it up to date. This map is only as good as the info he gets.

For Packet Sysops:
If you have 24×7 non-APRS packet infrastructure (nodes, digi’s, mailboxes, BBS, etc) that you would like to have listed then feel free to contact him with updates.    ww2bsa at arrl dot net

If you are already on it and don’t want to be then he will remove your system upon request.

If you have security concerns about showing a precise location of valuable electronic gear on a public map then you can use some position ambiguity.

You can provide all or partial frequencies. There can be valid reasons for not publishing all your HF access frequencies outside your user base. The same applies for your VHF/UHF backbone or alternate access/control frequencies. You control what gets listed.

No need to report Winlink systems as he is importing that from the Winlink station databases.
